Bad Jake

Bad Jake! I've forgotten all about this blog. I didn't mean to things just got a little out of hand. This summer has been very exciting. I got to meet another Pembroke Welsh Corgi that lives here! I think me and him are the only ones here, though. I've also been aloud to run around the park off leash. Recently, a new dog that can walk around off leash all she wants has moved in, and we're best friends, almost every time I go outside she runs over to me from her house.
Though, when ever my humn tries to pet me and she jumps in front of me i get angry and chase her away, well its not too bad because it IS my people and my territory. But, unlike the other dogs, she enjoys my energetic play and we act exactly alike, but she looks like a German Shepherd mix. This summer has been so sunny that I cant believe that this isn't inside my dreams. I will now try to post regularly again, and be a good boy.

Jakes being a cry baby

Ok, back to the subject of Jake. Well, he has been crying ALOT recently, and I just don't understand why. We keep on taking him for walks, but when he gets back in side, more crying awaits us. So, we feed Jake thinking that he's starving, thats not it either, More crys. So then we play with Jake, and guess what happens as soon as we finish? more crying. Then We pet Jake a whole bunch and, hey, he's finally silent! Then you stop petting him and... I'm sure you guessed it. MORE crying! So, we put him oputside thinking he has to go potty, and when he's inside, oh, well, I don't have to say it.
I dont understand whats going on with Jake, I wish he would stop, its getting me worried. Do any of you readers no whats going on? if so, please tell me in the comments!

On second thought, maybe I should change my websites address to Jakestales.blogspot.com, or leave this address, or... oh never mind, I wont change my websites address until I decide which name to change it too!

Seperation anxiety

I guess thats what you can call it. Jake peed and dug out of the garbage! You might just assume its because he's a naughty boy. Nope, thats not it. When I say that you assume its seperation anxiety, a condition where a dog can't stand being without his/her human companian, but thats kind of not it either. I know that this is what it is.

First off, we packed for my brother to go to orlando for a band trip. As my parents and my brother (only ones home at the time) tried to get put, Jake, seeing the suit cases, seems to assume that we're leaving him here to die. Jake takes awhile to move from the door, and my parents leave.

AFTER KIDS ARE PICKED UP FROM SCHOOL....

We find a long trail of pee on the stairs. And when we get up there, a bunch of garbage is on the kitchen floor and jake guiltily rolls over, and I notice some dirty marks on his head. Jake is over excited to see us all the same, even though he's in trouble. My mom says that he probably simply was eating the garbage, and when he heard us come he jumped up in surprise, making the garbage bag make alot of noise. She says he probably then zoomed down the stairs, peeing because he was scared.

I have my doubts on that one, when we pulled up, I noticed a bit of a Corgis head in the corner of the window.

Can we get another Corgi? Please?

As you may have heard before, Corgi's are like potato chips, you can't have more than one. I am starting to want another one, since we got Jake when he was about 10 and a half months old and full grown. We got him at that age because he was adopted by some one else, and there son became allergic to Jake.

Now, I want to meet a tiny Corgi. It would probably have a great life with Jake because it gets to live socially with him. And Jake, after about 1 year 3 months would be able to play with a dog for a very long time. Jakes personality is energetic, which is why he'd love a new friend.

So, thinking of a new dog, I asked my mom about it. "No, then we can't leave Cordova very much. We already have a hard time finding a place to keep Jake when we do leave. Maybe when we go to Hawaii." Ya. Right. Sure. Like she'd ever keep that promise, she says things all the time she dosen't mean. I guess I should cross another dog off my list. What's this I hear? for once she might actually mean it? I sure hope so!

Fatty Dog

Jake was recently weighed, and he turned out to weigh about 33 pounds. That probably isn't too heavy, but he is slightly over weight. I was the one who commited to making Jake go for a "run" (a walk, but we run the whole time.) I have been doing this for about a week, Jake has lost a bit of weight, but I'm sick so he's not getting the excersize he needs.

The Runaway

On March 31, Jake escaped. His collar had been way too loose, and he slipped out of it while he was tied up outside. I was in school at the time, and was only told about this. One of my moms friends said she would take me home wsith her, not telling me why. Just as I was about to go, my mom arrived. She soon told me what happened, and it went something like this:

Jake slips out of his collar, and runs away and gets away from our house. My mom is soon forced to go in the car and give chase after Jake. She can't find him for a while, but soon as my brother opens the door to go inside, you-know-who shoots out out of no where and launches himself inside through the door.

Food snatcher!

Hi, sorry its been a while since I posted. Recently something has happened. Of course its Jake. While I was on the computer distracted, I kept on hearing Jake munching on something. This continued for quite a while, then Ifinally looked over my shoulder only to see this. Jake was stuffing his head in his bag of food. And, he had dinner before! Because Jakes head was stuffed into the bag, he didn't notice me stand up behind. I'm sure he got really startled when out of the blue came one of his owners voice! Jake jumped back and instantly did his "trouble pose," he was acting guilty, but he just wanted to stay out of trouble.

Jake has a... uh.... Charming personality

Jake can really get you to do what ever he wants. I have proof, look at the picture! He always makes a small "aar" noise, and when he's outside Jake will bark, and bark, and bark until you let him in. I dont know why I posted that, but I needed to tell someone about Jakes personality.

Nope!

sorry for not posting yesterday, and sorry for this news, i guess we wont update everyday. Anyways, Jake pulls on his leash so hard he can some times rip it out of your hand. It was getting to be such a problem that I decided to do something. Now, if he yanks on the leash, I say "nope!" and walk back a few steps, then I continue the walk. Jake soon learns yanking on his leash gets him no where, so he stops pulling.

Dork Dog

Jake, in my opinion, is a dog who is a dork in the dog world. A dog is nearby, he starts doing high pitched barks, and keeps oon jumping on the dogs side. The big dogs around our block all hate Jake but hang out among themselfs. An old golden retriever named Sam, dosent go near Jake but stays in our yard sometimes. A dog that looks like a black bear nicknamed sockeye growls and tries to bite Jake before running off, even though she's friendly. The two big dogs sometimes hang out but always avoid Jake.

My dearest Corgi BangBang

I just recently saw an extremel sad Corgi video, it was a slide show with very cute and fun pictures of a very happy corgi named bangbang, who only lived to be 5 years old. It's called my dearest corgi bang bang. this video has maked me think about Jake and that he wont be here forever. Its absolutly beatiful.

Jake Biting???

Last night after I finally got Jake to calm down, my mom opened the door to check on me. Jake got all excited and jumped up once my mom closed the door. So, I pet Jake to calm him down, and what does he do? Jake BITES me!

Jake! That made me so angry I pushed him off my bed and out of the room. Do you have any suggestions as to how to stop jakes biting fury?

Laser

Well, while I was in Anchorage (pretty much the only city in alaska) I got Jake a lasor toy. We had decided to bring him to Anchorage with us for the first time, so Jake got to play imediatly. He played and played, chasing that laser until we had to go back to Cordova. Then the laser disapeared, and I believed it was gone for good. Well, guess what? I was wrong.
Just last night, while Jake was asleep in my room, I found the laser. Hearing it, Jake jumped up and was wide awake immediatly. What did I do? Well, thats pretty obvious. Jake was so enthusiastic, that I just had to play with him. My baby 8-year-old sister freaked out when she heard Jake bump into the door (the next morning she said "Jake really wanted to get out of your room!!!) I'm pretty sure that Jake enjoyed THAT session of play!

Greetings!

Well, have you ever heard that Corgi's have an "amazing personality"? Well, it's true. When ever you come home, he's right there panting and jumping on you like mad. Ok, let me describe it further. First, you drive up to your house, noticing a small dog head in the window, but then it quickly disapears. Then, as you open the door, you are attacked, well, attacked with love. Jake has his ears flinged back, and he's shaking his "nub." Jake also starts jumping on his hind legs and pawing you. This makes you want to come home to see the sight of Jakes greetings.

Walking at Eyak lake

Today, our Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Jake went on a walk to eyak lake, up here in Cordova Alaska. While he annoyed my dad to death by yanking hard on his leash, Jake was enjoying himself completely. He ran on top of the lake, and we also followed with him. After falling all the way up to our waists in snow, My dad, sister, Jake and me went over to a small pond (ice about 3-5 inches thick.) He enjoyed eating snow as we tossed it up into the air, Sometimes I wonder How Jakes mind works.
